Tao Shines Light in India 2017 – Part 3

June 21, 2017 - In 2014, the United Nations proclaimed the 21st of June as the International Day of Yoga to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of the practice. In 2016, Tao and I participated in the International Day of Yoga activities at the UN on "Yoga and the Sustainable Development Goals." As a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and Tao's biographer, I was honored to moderate her conversation. Max Kennedy moderated the conversation with Sadhguru, and then Sadhguru and Tao took the stage together. This year, Tao is a key part of the festivities in Bangalore under the invitation of Shwaasa Guru Sri Vachananand Swamiji.

Tao Shines Bright in India 2017 – Part 2

June 20, 2017 - On our second full day in Bangalore, we met 97-year-old Amma V. Nanammal and her son V. Balakrishnan at the hotel. She is from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, and is considered the oldest yoga teacher in India. Since both Tao and Nanammal were going to be featured on stage that evening together, Shwaasa Guru wanted them to meet and coordinate their yoga postures.

Tao Shines Bright In India 2017 – Part 1

June 18 - 19, 2017 - At 98 years young, yoga master and historical icon Tao Porchon-Lynch had a momentous trip to India to receive multiple awards, teach yoga and dance. I was delighted to accompany her as I've done previously. This time was extra special with seven days in Bangalore and four in Mumbai. Tao's mother was from Bihar and she spent the first twenty years of her life in Pondicherry--so India is home.
